I think you need to do a little more analysis. This is a common fault. It may be that the piston ring is severely worn, the valve clearance is too large, the piston and cylinder are severely worn, and the piston ring is too tight or too loose. The gap between these problems is relatively large. You need to find out where the problem lies
1. If there is smoke in the cab, you can use your hands to smell it. If it smells like engine oil, it means that it is leaking from other cylinders and enters your cylinder through intake or exhaust pipe
2. If it doesn’t smell like engine oil, it’s generally caused by fuel injection system failure, such as poor atomization of nozzle or leakage of high pressure oil pipe in fuel injection system
3. Then open the air filter box to check whether there is water vapor in the air cleaner element
4. If there are no water vapor and no engine oil smell, you can continue to check
5. Remove the valve cover and clean up all carbon deposits on the valve seat and valve stem
6. Check whether there is carbon deposit on piston
The volvo excavator exhaust smoke volume is large, and the driving of the machine is abnormal (the engine speed is lower than normal or unstable, and the power output drops sharply)
1. The air filter is blocked by dust.
2.The fuel supply system has a problem.
3. The diesel engine has low compression.
4. The lubricating oil is too thick or too thin.
5.The cylinder liner has scratches or leaks (especially when the piston ring is worn, it will cause the cylinder to leak oil).
6. The injector nozzle and the injector nozzle seat are seriously worn or have poor sealing performance, resulting in fuel leakage from the injection pipe to the outside of the cylinder, causing a large amount of white smoke to appear at the exhaust pipe during operation.
7.The high-pressure common rail oil pump does not pressurize properly or fails to return oil normally, resulting in an increased amount of fuel oil entering each cylinder; if there are impurities in the fuel system, they may also block the injector nozzles, causing excessive amounts of oil to enter each cylinder due to unbalanced injection pressure and causing oil smoke at the exhaust pipe;

1, the fault phenomenon:
The volvo excavator temperature of the coolant exceeds 100℃, and the temperature indicator light is on. During the operation, the machine vibration is large. After stopping for a while, the machine will automatically start up and turn off by itself. The engine can’t start normally and can’t be started by inertia.
2, analysis of reasons:
The cause of this kind of failure is mainly because the water pump impeller has been damaged and cannot be pumped out of water. The cooling system is not circulating normally, which leads to high water temperature. At this time, you should remove all the accessories and find out the problem clearly.
3, maintenance methods:
Check whether there are any problems with the water pump impeller, whether there are cracks or damage on it, etc., if so, replace it immediately. After that, start up again to see if it is normal or not. If it’s still abnormal at this time, you can check if there’s leakage in other parts of cooling system.
The volvo excavator engine coolant gauge pointer swings frequently and occasionally exceeds 100℃
Diagnosis: the water temperature sensor is abnormal and needs to be replaced.
The test shows that the water temperature sensor is normal, and then the ECM is unplugged for testing, and the pointer is still fluctuating. The ECM has been tested in a special computer, no fault code appears, can not determine whether it is caused by ECM failure or other reasons.
Solution: check the wire harness connection of the water temperature sensor and find that there are two interfaces in parallel with the water temperature sensor. The line from the engine starts from one of them, which is what we usually call the water temperature signal line. There is another line connected to the arrow of another interface, which is called temperature control line.
The inspection found that there was no problem with this interface. After careful observation, it was found that there was a small hole on one side of the engine coolant tank cap, which could be seen that it was connected to something inside. After pulling out a wire harness from the hole, it was found that it was connected to another interface of the water temperature sensor through an adapter cable.
The volvo excavator operating current is high, the fuel consumption increases, and the lubricating oil consumption increases significantly
When the excavator encounters this kind of fault, it will inevitably affect the work efficiency. In order to effectively solve this situation, we must first find out what causes it.
1, damage to the equipment system related components.
Bad components can cause poor contact between components and cause a high current failure. The damage of the gauge can also make the instrument display an incorrect value. The failure of the wiring harness can also cause a high current failure.
2, control system failure.
The control system is one of the most important systems in an excavator, and its failure will cause many failures. If there is an abnormality in the electric control system of Volvo excavators, it will cause abnormal signals or data transmission errors to be sent to various sensors and actuators, resulting in abnormal operation of various parts of the machine.
3, ECM (electronic control unit) failure.
The ECM collects data from all electronic control systems on site and sends instructions through hydraulic pumps and hydraulic valves according to different conditions. If there is a problem with ECM, it will directly affect all other parts of the machine’s performance.
Volvo EL110E excavator main engine regeneration process is based on the main engine oil system of continuous circulation, the engine runs in a state of no load, the exhaust is recycled, so that the fuel-air mixture can be cleaned and alkali agents can be neutralized. After performing the engine oil regeneration, only change 15% – 20% of the original oil consumed. The essence of the processing method is to ensure that there are no fluctuations in temperature and pressure during regeneration, so as to ensure that regenerative temperatures and pressures can be constantly maintained at high levels. As long as you follow these steps and pay attention to your excavators while they’re going through regeneration, you should be able to complete this task like a pro.
